RIGGS

Brief description of fishery:

Riggs is located just off Bolton Road A676 Hawkshaw and in the field opposite Kerry Hill. You have to walk up the public pathway at the side of the cottages, over the style and through the field keeping the hedge line to your right and you will come across the lake a short walk up the field.

This is definitely a lake you need to fish light due to the limited access to the lake, however going light really makes it fun to fish. There are a few trees to one corner of the rectangular shaped lake and a few bushes along the side of the lake.

The lake varies in depths from 1ft to 5ft deep. The lake holds mixed stocks of Perch, Roach, Skimmers, Tench and Bream.

Given the lakes location it does not get fished that often but when people do fish it, they normally have a good session catching lots of fish of all sizes.

Baits – Maggots, Pinkies and worm appear to be the best.

Why not give it a try and let us know how you got on.
